The Hosts of the Uvita Surf Camp
We are Gabriel from Costa Rica and Verena from Austria, a passionate duo dedicated to sharing our love for surfing and the beautiful surrounding of our Uvita Surf Camp. Our surf camp is not just a place to catch waves, but a home where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Costa Rica and the warm hospitality of Austria.
Gabriel is our lead surf instructor, and he brings years of experience as well as a deep passion for teaching to ensure you have the best surfing experience possible.
Verena is always passionate about any kind of animals. She loves to show you the diverse wildlife that thrives in our garden and the surrounding area.
Together we speak English, Spanish and German, ensuring you feel right at home no matter where you’re from.
Our Surf Camp is also home to two adorable puppies, Coco and Balú. Coco and Balú are two out of three siblings who were abandoned at Playa Hermosa in July 2024 when they were just six weeks old. After being rescued by El Refugio Hogar Animal Costa Ballena, we took all three in for foster care and eventually adopted Coco and Balú. Their sister, Prada, found her forever family just 30 minutes south of Uvita. These playful pups are always ready to greet you with wagging tails and endless affection.
